Learning from the Area Based Childhood Programme

The Area Based Childhood Programme is an area-based prevention and early intervention initiative targeting investment in evidence-informed interventions to improve outcomes for children and families in Ireland. The Programme is funded by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs as part of Tusla’s Prevention, Partnership and Family Support (PPFS) Programme. We designed an evaluation framework for the Programme with the support and advice of an Expert Advisory Group. The CES team collected evidence through interviews, focus groups, surveys and pre- and post-intervention questionnaires with a wide range of groups and experts, including representatives from ABC areas.
