We are delighted to welcome our new Chief Executive Officer, Dr Inez Bailey to CES. Inez is the former Chief Executive Officer with the National Literacy Agency (NALA) and brings over 25 years’ experience of working in public policy as an advocate, an innovator and a researcher.
During her time as CEO of NALA Inez served on the inaugural Healthy Ireland Council and was part of the Government’s Expert Group on Future Skills Needs which advises the Government on skills needs and labour market issues that impact enterprise and employment growth. She has served as Chair and Board member of a range of charity and statutory bodies. Inez is a graduate of the University of Sheffield (EdD) and Maynooth University (BA, MA, Dip).
Speaking about her appointment, Inez said:
‘I am excited about this opportunity to lead CES. My work has involved extensive engagement and collaboration with government bodies, community and voluntary organisations and the research community, all of which was aimed at improving people’s lives. I look forward to continuing this collaboration, and leading CES as an organisation which helps policy makers, service providers and frontline professionals to improve the lives of people in Ireland and Northern Ireland.’
Dr Jack Golden, Chair of the CES Board said:
‘Earlier this year the Board embarked on a recruitment campaign for a new Chief Executive Officer. The position attracted strong interest and excellent candidates. We congratulate Inez on her appointment and welcome her to the CES team as we deal with the challenges and opportunities resulting from Covid-19 and focus on the continued development of CES and its unique service offering. Inez’ extensive experience as a leader and her track record of success in her previous roles have equipped her well to steer CES and support our partners in public services now and into the future.
Inez takes over from Nuala Doherty who has overseen the growth and development of CES in supporting social change initiatives in Ireland and Northern Ireland for almost a decade. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Nuala on her many successes at CES and to wish her well in her retirement.’
