‘Putting communities and families in the driving seat’ is a one day conference which takes place on Monday, June 17th in Belfast.
Over the past four years, CES has been supporting projects funded by the National Lottery Community Fund Reaching Out, Supporting Families Programme. The programme funds thirty six projects which help families in Northern Ireland to deal with adversity – such as a physical or intellectual disability, domestic violence, social exclusion or stigma. CES has worked with organisations, helping them to implement and evaluate their projects, and creating opportunities for networking and sharing learning.
This conference is a celebration of the programme's achievements so far, as well as an opportunity to share learning between practitioners, policy makers, and experts in the field of family support.
Speakers on the day include David Sterling (Head of the Northern Ireland Civil Service), Kate Beggs (Director of the National Lottery Community Fund NI) and Tim Moore, Deputy Director, Australian Centre for Child Protection, University of South Australia.
This conference is now fully booked, but you can follow the conference live on Twitter at #familiesinthedrivingseat.
