Karina is a member of CES’ Change and Improvement team which works alongside the HSE to support the delivery of national transformation programmes in healthcare. Currently she is working on the implementation of “Sharing the Vision”, Ireland’s 10-year national Mental Health Policy.
Karina is a service design professional committed to the development and implementation of increasingly equitable and accessible public services. She brings a unique perspective, grounded in a decade of mastering human-centred service delivery within the hospitality industry.
Her approach prioritizes deep user empathy, operational resilience, and seamless cross-functional coordination. At CES she will be applying her vast and varied experience and operating knowledge to the systemic design of health services, ensuring they are as intuitive, effective, and human-centric as they can be.
She also has experience in academic research to help guide the effective implementation of new services, has coordinated a volunteer led national project and has worked for an environmental NGO to create evidence-based communication strategies for nature conservation.
Karina holds a Communication degree from Iberoamerican University Mexico City and is a master’s candidate in Service Design from National College of Art and Design (NCAD), Dublin.
