The Centre for Effective Services Ltd (CES) is a new organisation, currently in its start-up phase. It is supported by the Irish Government and Atlantic Philanthropies. Its role is to provide technical and organisational expertise to organisations in Ireland that offer support to children and families at community level.  In line with the development of the organisation, this web site is at an early stage of development.

The organisation has announced the appointment of Dr Deborah Ghate as Director.  Dr Ghate has carried out research and evaluation work with children, young people and their families for over 20 years.  From 1998 to 2007, she was co-founder and director of the Policy Research Bureau, London, an independent research bureau.  In 2007, she was appointed Principal Research Officer of the Thomas Coram Research Bureau, University of London.
