Evidence into Practice Conference

Location: DCU School of Nursing and Health Sciences, Conference Room HG23
On the 23rd of January 2012, DCU School of Nursing and Human Sciences and the Centre for Effective Services will host a conference to explore the use of evidence in practice. The conference will be multidisciplinary in nature with presentations from experienced professionals from a wide variety of disciplines. The primary target audience for this seminar is front-line and senior practitioners and managers who are interested in evidence informed practice from the fields of public health and social care working across the lifecycle. It is recognised that other groups will have an interest in this topic. These include researchers, academics, and policy makers.
The day will take place in the DCU School of Nursing and Health Sciences - Conference Room HG23 between 10.30 am and 4.30 pm and will consist of a mix of plenary contributions, working groups and panel discussion.
After attending the seminar, participants should:
- Build their capacity for using research and evidence to influence change
- Understand the importance of the ethical issues in evidence translation
- Consider the process of bringing evidence to practitioners and decision makers at the right time
- Be exposed to the learnings from other disciplines working in other human services
