CES Practice Development Seminar Series - Disseminating the Evidence

CES has been running a series of seminars and other learning events exploring the concept and application of evidence in policy and practice. The next seminar in this series will explore the theme of how to communicate evidence and knowledge to policymakers and practitioners ensuring impact.

The primary target audience for this practice seminar is practitioners and managers in services for children and young people who have evaluated their programmes or services. It is recognized that other groups will also have an interest in this seminar. These include researchers involved in the evaluation process and other functions including communications professionals and knowledge brokers.

After attending the seminar, participants should:
- Be exposed to the most effective means of communicating research findings
- Understand the importance of presenting evidence in a way that makes a difference for their audiences
- Be able to develop their own integrated dissemination plan
- Understand how the coverage of research works in the media

This seminar will be open to the Republic of Ireland delegates. A second seminar will be held in Belfast in January 2012. It is hoped that participants will be provided with a baseline knowledge of the area. A follow up workshop where attendees will bring their dissemination plans to a ‘dissemination clinic’ will take place in Spring 2012.

Date to be confirmed shortly.
