Youth Policy Framework Development
Project Background
The Centre for Effective Services has been asked to support the Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA) in reviewing a number of specific areas regarding policy and provision for young people. The OMCYA seeks to establish a youth policy framework to accommodate the identified areas and issues pertinent to young people within the 10-21 age range. CES will help the Office to develop policy objectives in this area, reconfiguring funding schemes related to such objectives, while ensuring that the resultant service provision for young people in this age range is both quality and outcome focused. Following this, consideration will be given to exploring connections with related policy areas affecting young people which are outside the responsibility of the Office. The review will enable the development of linkages with the new National Children’s Strategy and to aspects of the European Youth Framework.
