Social Impact Bonds Roundtable
Project Background
In April 2011, Clann Credo, The Social Investment Fund, in association with CES and the Atlantic Philanthropies, hosted a roundtable at our Harcourt Street offices to explore the potential for Social Impact Bonds in Ireland and Northern Ireland. Participants heard about the ‘why’, the ‘what’ and the ‘how’ of Social Impact Bonds from Toby Eccles and Louise Saville of Social Finance, a not for profit based in England, with a focus on increasing the quantity, effectiveness and reliability of funding for interventions with a social impact. Social Finance has defined a Social Impact Bond as ‘a contract with the public sector in which it commits to pay for improved social outcomes.
