P119 Longford Westmeath Parenting Partnership (LWPP)
Project Background
The Longford/Westmeath Parenting Partnership (LWPP) is an interagency partnership comprising nine statutory and non-statutory organisations with a purpose to deliver evidence-based parenting knowledge and skills to the population of Longford/Westmeath.
The Partnership is implementing a community-based intervention, the Triple P Parenting Programme, focused on reducing childhood emotional and behavioural problems amongst children in Longford-Westmeath. This major project of LWPP is co-funded by LWPP member organisations, OMCYA, Atlantic Philanthropies, Aontacht Phobail Teoranta and the HSE. LWPP has asked CES for advice and support on strategy and programme development. The aims of CES support to LWPP are to:
- Support and advise LWPP on the implementation of their work plan
- Promote an evidence-informed approach to all aspects of the work of LWPP
- Act as a ‘critical friend’ on key organisational and operational issues for LWPP
- Exchange knowledge and expertise in relation to policy, practice and service developments
